New Website: The MLPA Follies
We will chronicle issues of the stifling of public expression, corruption, conflict of interest and ongoing legal harassment and obfuscation by MLPA “Initiative” lawyers as we attempt to hold their feet to the fire for obvious violations of the law
New Website: The MLPA Follies
by David Gurney
Noyo News is launching a new informational website on the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) “Initiative.” The site, “MLPA Follies,” will provide a permanent historical record of the the privately funded “public process,” and subsequent legal proceedings after this reporter was illegally arrested at an MLPAI meeting.
The site will provide a reference of the MLPAI’s violations of the law and the democratic process during its extended foray through California’s North Coast, from 2009 through 2011.
Details of “Initiative” will be in one place, including You Tube videos, articles, photographs and legal documents from our ongoing civil rights lawsuit. We will chronicle issues of the stifling of public expression, corruption, conflict of interest and ongoing legal harassment and obfuscation by “Initiaitive” lawyers as we attempt to hold their feet to the fire for obvious violations of the law. The site will continue to update as the legal process continues.
To get to the site, go to this url: http://www.mlpafollies.banjotune.com
This is an ongoing project, which will be updated and improved as time goes on, so please check back regularly.
California's Marine Life Protection Act Initiative is a privately funded process to create so-called "marine protected areas" that fail to protect the ocean from oil drilling and spills, pollution, military testing, corporate aquaculture, wind and wave energy projects and all human impacts on the ocean other than fishing and gathering.
Catherine Reheis-Boyd, the President of the Western States Petroleum Association, chaired the MLPA Blue Ribbon Task Force that created the "marine protected areas" that went into effect in Southern California marine waters on January 1, 2012.
