Teach-In at the Hold-Out

This Sunday, February 5th, at 11 a.m., there will be two workshops, both followed by discussion, at the Holdout Community Center at 2313 San Pablo and 23rd in Oakland. The scope will be over the previous 30-40 years of radical history up to the present day. Facilitated by two members of the radical community.

The first is a very timely talk on anarchist provenance of many of the tools and strategies of the Occupy movement. This presentation will be an overview of the ways in which anti-authoritarian activists have worked on modified consensus decision-making, with a critique of those methods.

The second is a presentation about anti-bureaucratic tendencies and political trajectories of various post-Situ and other groupings in the Bay Area in the recent past until now. Implicit in the talk is a call for transparent politics and individuals’ political allegiances.

Come, one and all, for what is expected to be a lively discussion. Snacks provided. (Donations accepted)
