Support Herb Meiberger For SF City Workers Pension Board

by Committee to Re-Elect Herb Meiberger
SF city workers are supporting Herb Meiberger who will defend city worker pensions and benefits. Some union officials including the leadership of SEIU 1021 are opposing him because he was opposed to anti-labor proposition C that attacked pensions and healthcare benefits and was supported by privatizer and union buster SF Supervisor Sean Elsbernd.
Support Herb Meiberger For SF City Workers Pension Board-Stop Attack On SF City Workers And Their Pensions/Healthcare

Dear union members;

This is an especially important SF Retirement Board election and many union members are urging you to vote for Herb Meiberger CFA in order to keep your Retirement System the best in California, which it is currently.

Herb Meiberger CFA, has served you and retiree members with diligence and expertise and will continue to do so if elected. Herb's qualifications include 20 years as an Investment Staff Member, an Instructor at SFSU and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Herb is a long time San Franciscan and received an MBA from UC Berkely. Herb knows San Francisco and it's governance.

Herb is endorsed by RECCSF (City Retirees) Protect Our Benefits (City Retirees) the SF Labor Council, IFPTE - Local 21 and many union leaders such as Larry Barsetti, Willie Lim, Claire Zvanski, David Williams and others. Herb was a 790 member while he was employed by the City and was classified as a miscellaneous employee. He is now retired.

Herb's main competitor, Deborah Landis is supported and endorsed by the same people who promoted Prop. C, including Supervisor Elsbernd. Ms Landis's candidacy is thought to be part of the on-going campaign by City Hall to control and continue to change your pension fund. Ms Landis has comparatively limited financial experience with very little expertise in investments. Although she labels herself a miscellaneous employee, she is holds a management position in the Police Department and is an MEA member. MEA is a management association and was part of the group promoting Prop C. Ms Landis voted for Prop C according to her own statement at an SF SEIU 1021 COPE meeting. She is not vested in the SF City and County Pension System.

Please take the time to vote in this very important election. You have received, or will receive, your yellow ballot from the SF Dept. of Elections. Please make sure to sign it before you mail it or turn it in. The ballot is due by January 27th. If you do not receive a ballot, please call 415-554-4342.

PLEASE RE ELECT HERB MEIBERGER FOR THE SF RETIREMENT BOARD - KEEP OUR PENSIONS SAFE DURING THESE HARD ECONOMIC TIMES.

Kay Walker - SF City Retiree and former SEIU 535 Officer
