I hope the GA's Sunday and Monday will have a overflow crowd . As the weather gets colder (and the repression gets more intense . Even refusing to allow Port-a potties to be delivered ??!!! ) we need to make some important decisions re our future . Should we try to obtain use of a large indoor meeting place for GA's ? Maybe some of our Union allies can help . Even more importantly what is our plan of action for upcoming months ? ( BTW What actually happened with the 18th and Linden , in my view , failure ? Did the owners of the foreclosed house at first contact OO and request support for their battle aganist foreclosure (as was reported to a GA ) but then change their minds ? If so any info about how that occurred ? Pressure by the city or maybe a new deal offer from the Bank ? )
As 2012 election approaches the pressure by our''progressive democrat '''friends ''to become a GOTV operation for their party will greatly increase . For example last weekend a Progressive Democrat org. held a forum on the Occupy movement at a Hotel in Burlingame . Shake Anderson spoke as a OO activist. One of the questions was Would the Occupy Movement ''mature'' (as ex Oakland Radical Van jones has wished ) and support the Democrats in 2012 ?
I damm sure hope not . If ;'maturity '''means abandoning our hard won independence from both of the capitalist parties then , to paraphase Peter Pan ) i hope we never grow up !
Anyway i hope we can get into these and other crucial questions .
