After a demonstration and march to local banks on October 7, the SCPD informed a member of the Occupy Santa Cruz legal working group that occupiers would be ticketed at 8am on October 8 if they still remained at Mission Plaza, so it was decided that the camp location would be moved to the Santa Cruz County courthouse steps. After setting up some equipment, about a dozen Santa Cruz County Sherrif's department arrived and would not allow camping to be located at the courthouse. Occupiers wishing to camp that night returned to their original location in San Lorenzo Park.
