Free Radio is Back on the Air
Free Radio Santa Cruz is again transmitting on 101.1 FM
After an eviction from their previous transmitter site, Free Radio Santa Cruz has found a new site and restarted transmitting on 101.1 FM. The collectively run, anti-corporate, community supported station has been providing Santa Cruz with alternative programming to counter mainstream corporate and NPR stations since 1995.
A Class in Pirate Radio Engineering will be offered this winter quarter at Free Skool Santa Cruz
Uncle Dennis of Free Radio Santa Cruz is offering a class in radio engineering during the winter quarter at Free Skool Santa Cruz. The class will have lots of hands-on experience, but with the theory of radio and electronics as a basis. The class is free, but students will have to buy some inexpensive tools and electronic parts for the lab work. There will also be optional lab time at the Free Radio studios getting experience with the actual equipment. Class size is limited, so reserve a seat early.
