Despite the arrest of Occupy San Jose participants early Friday morning, members of the movement quickly rebuilt, raising three tents outside City Hall.

The San Jose Police Dept. raid resulted in the arrest of at least eight people at 3am Friday morning. Protestors say they will continue airing their disgust at the state of the nation’s financial inequalities.

Most of those who received citations for trespassing have been released. One protester was cited but not taken to jail because he was in a wheelchair. "I know why they didn't haul me off with the others," he said.
They didn't want to deal with my wheelchair."

He proudly showed his citation to anyone interested as Friday turned to Saturday.

Energy level was high amongst the 25 or so participants. Several students from DeAnza College came by to join in the demonstration. One said she is taking a class in social action and was inspired to participate with two friends. "It's our first protest ever," she said.
