Will 99 percent re-discover "The Economy, sweetie"?

by Tortuga Bi LIBERTY (franhattan [at] yahoogroups.com)
Less attention to social [religious or sexual] issues?
For 2011-2012,
"it's the economy, again?"
......
Suddenly, people are talking and marching about economics.
A topic that usually puzzles and/or bores most.
For years, a few voices have been trying to draw attention to the wealth gap;
now it's vividly pictured on the cover of TIME [in an illustration which could as easily appear on the San Francisco Bay Guardian].
Thank the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators for sparking this
change of attention. For awakening the 99 percent.
Why now? Perhaps also,
(a) queer issues are less divisive today than in 2004-2011;
(b) since 2010, Congress has enraged the public -- over economic issues.
Anyway, the 2012 election may hinge on economics, sweetie.
And MAYBE more of the 99 percent will think about the real economic interests of themselves, their families, and their nation? Instead of voting on the basis of cultural and sectarian emotions?
Madness breaks out often. Sometimes, sanity breaks out...
