"About Face: Military Resisters Turn Against War"

Marin activists Buff and Cindy Whitman-Bradley will talk about their new book, "About Face: Military Resisters Turn Against War" (PM Press), at a publication party at the September 26 meeting of the Marin Peace and Justice Coalition. "About Face" (co-edited with Sarah Lazare) presents the stories, in their own words, of members of the U.S. military who have refused to fight in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some went to prison for the stand they took; others fled to Canada; still others received dishonorable discharges, were branded with the stigma of a felony, and had their veteran's benefits taken away. All have powerful, compelling stories to tell about the process they went through from volunteer soldier to war resister.
