Fall 2011 Discussions start Tues. September 13

Book Review, The Color of Law: Ernie Goodman, Detroit, and the Struggle for Labor and Civil Rights, book review by Arnold Kawano. National Lawyers Guild Journal,Vol. 68, No. 1, Spring 2011. (The review is 18 pages; the book is 576 pages). Ernest Goodman was one of the founders of the National Lawyers Guild. In addition to being a biography of Goodman, this book is also a history of the working class movement in Detroit; the development of labor law under the fledgling National Labor Relations Board; the founding of the National Lawyers Guild and its role under Goodman’s leadership. Goodman was an interesting and historically important figure. We hope we will be joined at this discussion by Arnold Kawano, the author of the book review. Read the review.
