Justice for Raheim Brown Jr Demanded at OUSD Board Meeting, 8/10/11: audio
On Wednesday, August 10th, family and supporters rallied at the Lake Merritt BART station before marching to Oakland Unified School District's headquarters to call for justice in the police murder of Raheim Brown Jr. Speakers include Jeremy Miller, of the Idriss Stelley Foundation/Education Not Incarceration; Lori Davis, Raheim Brown's mother; Raheim Brown Senior; Jabari Shaw, of the Laney College BSU (Black Student Union); Mesha Irizarry, of the Idriss Stelley Foundation, who lost her son Idriss Stelley to SFPD on 6/12/01; Lesley Tiyesha Phillips, of the Oscar Grant Committee; Tiny, aka Lisa Gray-Garcia, Cofounder of POOR Magazine in SF; long-time social justice activist Dee Allen; Sean Gillis, Oakland Fire Department (OFD) whistle-blower; Charles DuBois, of Labor Black and Brown; Gerald Sanders, former Black Panther and host of show on Berkeley Liberation Radio 104.1FM; and more.
