Hiroshima Day 2011: Protest in San José
8 years and counting at Peace Crossroads in San José.
David Ledesma can usually be found at Peace Crossroads in San José on weekends bringing his anti-war message to the busy traffic at the intersection of Winchester and Stevens Creek Boulevards. On the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, the San Jose Raging Grannies and members of the Action League Raging Grannies were there to fortify his message of peace.
David doesn’t limit his activism to holding signs at this busy San José intersection. He has been extremely active in countering military recruiters in our schools, and says "No one should have to kill or support killing for an education or citizenship". He regularly visits high schools teaching students about alternatives to military service.
He has been protesting weekly at Peace Crossroads now for over 8 years.
The San Jose Raging Grannies formed a decade ago. Together with the Peninsula based Action League Raging Grannies they organize and attend anti-war, human rights, and environmental protests from San Francisco to Monterey.
