KPFA recall campaign: almost there!
Signatures continue to roll in on the petition drive to recall KPFA board member Tracy Rosenberg, who also sits on the Pacifica National Board. We are close to meeting our goal, but we need your help TODAY to put us over the top.

Tracy Rosenberg is the architect of the destruction of KPFA’s Morning Show, a key ally of Pacifica executive director Arlene Engelhardt, and a prime mover behind efforts to illegally keep KPFA’s local representatives from taking their elected seats on Pacifica’s national board.

To trigger a recall election, we need over 400 valid signatures from current KPFA listener-members – meaning people who’ve given at least $25 to KPFA in the past year. If you’re not sure if your KPFA membership is up to date, please give now at kpfa.org before you sign the petition.
We are required to turn in the signatures on paper — the old-fashioned way — so you need to print the petition, sign it and mail it. If you’ve already signed, then print a copy and sign up friends at meetings, events, and farmers’ markets.
Also, if you’re sitting on a signed petition, please mail it in now. We’ll be turning in our petitions shortly, and when we do, we want to have as strong a showing as possible. | MORE HERE

According to the tapes, the Save KPFA clowns are still submitting budget drafts with operating deficits that don't even include *paying* for this special election they keep hawking. And hawking with no success, since apparently they are not yet "over-the-top" with a measly 2% of the subscribers after 5 weeks of trying.
It's embarrassing.
Save KPFA from Save KPFA.
And donate to the fund drive which runs through 8-11.
That is a practical thing to do.
How is the drive going, Tracy? Please tell us how the morning mix is doing.
You should probably take the mainstream media biases elsewhere. They don't play real well here.
"We're subjected to extortion king JR in the morning and the rest of the conspirowacks"
Otherwise a brief look at financial statements confirms that WBAI, while still troubled with an incredibly expense lease and a transmitter on the Empire State building that is not cheap, is on target to cut its 2010 (and most of the last decade) losses in half, which is tremendous progress. Good for them. They are on an upward trajectory and in a very hard economic climate.
KPFA's summer drive will do the best it can. August is a tough time to fundraise and the 3rd biggest stock market collapse in history on Tuesday doesn't help matters. On the whole, it's not bad so far- the first three days netted about 85K or 28K a day.
If you want to draw a salary from producing radio for a listener-sponsored radio station then yes, you have to raise the money, not only to cover the shared facility expenses, but also the salaries and benefits. Not much you can do about that. I'm sorry its such a burden.
And are you prepared to state that slander to his face ?
If not i suggest you cease and desist that Cointelpro sounding type of attack >
