Rage in the Streets March Against Police, San Francisco , 7/19/11: photos, 1 of 2

by dave id
In response to the San Francisco police shooting of Kenneth Harding in the Bayview on July 16th -- and the rash of recent police killings in general, including the July 3rd killing of Charles Hill in Civic Center station by BART police -- a "Rage in the Streets" march was called for July 19th starting at Dolores Park. Leaving the park about 6pm, the march snaked back and forth through the Castro, venturing into Castro Muni station, on to the Mission District, and finally heading up Market to Powell Street, where over 20 people were arrested at the trolley car turnaround just before 8pm and a San Francisco Chronicle photographer was shoved to the ground hard and fast by SFPD. The march's lead banner read, "They can't shoot us all. Fuck the police."

Windows were open at the armory and it's not known if the loud echoing chants disrupted any kink.com video shoots. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Armory
