Mark Mericle, the news reader and anchor of this newscast, starts by calling the Freedom Riders "protesters." A protest is simply a picketline at an event. The Gaza Freedom Flotilla is a MILESTONE in the 63 YEAR STRUGGLE TO END THE ZIONIST OCCUPATION OF PALESTINE, which is an insult to the Jewish community, a theft of $6 billion annually of our tax dollars, and most importantly, a disaster for the Palestinian people. He continues by stating they were carefully watched for their 2 mile journey by the Greek Coast Guard when in fact, we know from reading this website and the links, that there was no one watching as they sailed away. He then states they returned to port after being stopped by the Greek Coast Guard, without saying that they were directed to a military port with barbed wire. We know this from the many Twitter accounts and from viewing Michael Moore's website. See http://michaelmoore.com/ He then repeats the lie he told on June 30, 2011, that the Freedom Riders and the Zionists supposedly blamed each other for the violence that occurred in 2010, when they were certainly not equals and the violence was premeditated assassinations of 9 non-violent Freedom Riders by the heavily armed Zionist pirates who illegaly boarded the Marvi Marmara in international waters. He ends this drivel with a lie, one of many, from the Zionist Israeli government that their excuse for responding with violence is that someone connected to Hamas has something to do with the Freedom Flotilla! This broadcast could easily be heard on a capitalist radio station and has no place on a listener-sponsored community radio station. He never bothered to interview anyone from the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, including the US Boat to Gaza, although Flashpoints, the 5-6 p.m. daily show, had no trouble getting a variety of speakers for an entire week on the subject from the Flotilla. He should have ended this segment with information on how to join the phone brigade to help free the American delegation by calling all the Greek consulates. This information is on this website and on Michael Moore's website, prominently displayed.

With this Freedom Flotilla's call for a phone brigade, we were able to call many senators and congresspeople and tell them to cut off US aid to Israel, lift the blockade of Gaza, and end the 63-year-occupation of Palestine. The US/Israel opposition to the Freedom Flotilla demonstrated to Americans that there is no difference between the 100% pro-Israel Democrats and 100% pro-Israel Republicans, which will help build the socialist and Green parties, long overdue, and we told Congress that as well with our phone calls. This was all unthinkable just a few years ago. And it was the US who told the Greeks to stop the Freedom Flotilla.
