We are excited to be showing four amazing films that highlight the struggles of various Native communities to protect their land and defend their ways of life. Each film showing will be a fundraiser to support a specific indigenous struggle, and we greatly appreciate any donations you can give.

American Outrage Wed. May 4th 7pm The story of two elderly Western Shoshone sisters, the Danns, in their heroic fight for their land. Is The Crown at War With Us? Wed. May 11th 7pm A gripping portrait of the Esgenoopetitj Mi'gmaq First Nation as the Canadian government appears to wage war on them for exercising their fishing rights. Kanehsatake Wed. May 18th 7pm A powerful documentary of the armed stand-off in Quebec that propelled native issues in Kanehsatake into the international spotlight. In The Light of Reverence Wed. May 25th 7pm A beautifully rendered account of the struggles of the Lakota in the Black Hills, the Hopi in Arizona and the Wintu in California to protect sacred sites.
