SFSU Professor Dina Ibrahim speaking on "The Media's Role in the Egyptian Revolution". Potluck 6:30 p.m., program 7:30 p.m. As the uprising in Egypt continues to make history and enthrall pro-democracy and anti-war activists, as well as the general public, around the world. Professor Ibrahim, an Egyptian, often returns to her homeland (including during the on-going nonviolent revolution). She is a former reporter for BBC World Service Radio in London, United Press International in Cairo, CNN in Atlanta, NPR in Austin, and KPOO 89.5 FM in San Francisco. An Associate Professor of Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts at San Francisco State University, she has lived in the United States since 1998. She currently hosts “Arab TV” on CreaTV, Channel 15, San Jose, highlighting issues of concern to the Bay Area Arab-American community. This program is free, with donations appreciated.
