Alice Griffith Public Housing, blatant LIES and promises made to the tenants living there

by Francisco Da Costa
The tenants of Alice Griffith aka Double Rock are pissed off. Nothing much has changed, the toilets leak, the kitchens are filthy, and everywhere deferred maintenance - has made living conditions unbearable. Once, Dwayne Jones from COO - Communities of Opportunity bused the tenants to City Hall - promised the tenants, the sky - today they are living in a cesspool. With no hope in sight; less improvement in sight - their daily, living conditions are unbearable, and no one wants to listen to their serious complaints. On Carrol Street raw sewage flows on to the street - a health hazard to all in the vicinity - the SF Housing Authority knows about it and could not give a damn. Our Mayor, Ed Lee knows about it - but, is all talk when it comes to quality of life - issues.
There was a time when the Hunters Point and Candlestick Point Environmental Impact Report was been deliberated at City Hall - hundreds of ignorant folks from Alice Griffith were bused - to say what was told to them by corrupt folks who had a vested interest.

The ignorant folks - made a fool of themselves - and were promised good jobs, housing, and more.

Today, nothing has come of the many promises. What is more nothing will come - San Francisco Redevelopment Agency is DEAD. Its funding has trickled down to - nothing, nada!

Now, with no money to help the tenants - Lennar is jumping ship and offering to sell its plans and approved projects to anyone that will buy them out - ten cents on a dollar.

No one is stepping forward and these drab discussion have been on going for months.

Now, the folks of Alice Griffith know something is wrong - but, once again they have been duped. They thought they were smart and thought they had it all - but now they are holding the empty bag and do not know - what to do. They turn to City Hall - and City Hall has given them the finger!

In this case they knew who the devil was and listened to folks like Dwayne Jones, Angelo King, Aurelious Walker - today, those that promised the folks from Alice Griffith and gave them HOPE - are no where to be found.

On any given day - if you enter the homes within the Alice Griffith complex - you will hear tenants complain about leaking toilets, kitchen that are filthy, windows that need repair and a host of other deferred maintenance - that the SF Housing Authority must complete - as per the work orders - but, do not bother to do at all.

On Carrol Street on the out skirts of the Alice Griffith Public Housing - raw sewage has been flowing for years - and the tenants know some - but, not enough to understand the infrastructure is weak and leaking - and that most of all - the condition can cause a health hazard.

Not only to them in the Public Housing Complex but to the vicinity as well.

Mayor Ed Lee better visit the out skirts and then take a look what exactly in happen within the complex. The poor conditions have been in place for the last 15 years.

City officials make promises - and when the time comes to deliver - the poor folks that live in the Alice Griffith Public Housing aka Double Rock are shafted - and shafted again and again. What a crying shame.

Some sell outs working with Dwayne Jones have sold out their community - and it is just a matter of time - before everyone is evicted and thrown out of the Public Housing. Their next destination the Tenderloin and Sixth Street.

The area is prone to liquefaction, flooding, and what is more radiological elements - Alice Griffith is in very close proximity to Hunters Point Naval Shipyard:

Some folks from Alice Griffith - are working on the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and have made some money.

Some of them have fallen sick - we told them about the contaminants but I guess their health was not important - the money was. Now, they are in pain and wondering why they fell in the trap - in the first place.

It is the same old story. No one want to mitigate the area - they want jobs and money. When their health is affected then all hell breaks - loose.

The City and County of San Francisco is RACIST. Using thug and consultants many who have gone to jail - to do outreach and fool the community. No one can fool all the people all of the time.

People in Public Housing are treated like dirt - the people are poor and need help - but this City continues to make vague and false promises. Now, the Developers and Property Mangers have join in the fray and continue to do the same. All this in San Francisco one of the richest cities in the world.

Make no bones about it. This story is repeated at Potrero Hill Public Housing, Oakdale Public Housing, Huntersview Public Housing, the Public Housing by Kiska Road.

Property Managers like the John Stewart Company are sitting on over $150 million - linked to the Huntersview area.

Mercy Housing is playing games at Sunnydale.

Bridge Developers at Potrero Hill - all waiting to use tactics, tactics akin to gentrification to remove "people of color" and complete the dirty deed.

People of color - instead of thinking outside the box, being educated on issues - fall for cold pizza, tainted cool aide , stale bread crumbs, hot air, vague promises - and of course fall for the lies that the crooks spew like toxic particulates - and divide the community.

We took photographs of the sell outs and you can have a good look who they are:

Time for those living in Public Housing to wake up and save themselves.
