Infrastructure Financing District at TREASURE ISLAND simply want fly.

by Francisco Da Costa
The Infrastructure Financing District as a substitute for the SF Redevelopment Agency to cater to BIG DEVELOPERS will not fly. Not at Treasure Island - no way.
There are elements who after giving their presentation at the San Francisco Planning - came, before the SF Land Use today in Room 216 to try once more to pull a fast one. They tried to hoodwink the public at large but failed - miserably.

Treasure Island should not be a place where 6o and 70 story buildings are stuck on land that is prone to liquefaction, flooding and what is more an imminent Tsunami.

Treasure Island is a man made island - and every, single year is sinking about two inches.

There are serious problems when it come to Climate Change and what we are learning every day - with all that is happening in Japan is not very pretty - the Earthquakes and the Tsunami that hit Japan so hard - is meant to warn us who are prone to Earthquakes - and not make FUN of Mother Earth.

Let us NOT mock mother Earth - with tales that a Tsunami will not occur in San Francisco - and more that we understand the two faults - that are waiting to open up the Earth and reveal a show of force that will topple the thousands of homes in the Avenues in San Francisco - a liquefaction that is a thousand fold strong and nothing, I repeat, nothing that has ever been seen in San Francisco - before.

Treasure Island is in the path of huge 70 to 80 foot waves that will destroy most of the man made Island. The developers may talk in jest - building forty and fifty feet wall - these walls will topple - like match sticks.

Greedy, Big Developers still think they can exploit the lay person with tales and fabrication. Trying to bluff us with a figment of their imagination.

Looking at us in the eye and lying. Well, those days are over - the present Economy, the thousands of homes in foreclosure - all point to the time - where Real Estate, Big Developers, and small, lousy, cramped condominiums are a thing of the past.

Today at SF City Hall in Room 213 various minions, prompted by Big Developers tried their best to bluff - but, this time no one wasl fooled.

No one can fool, all the people all the time.

At Treasure Island right off the bat - the people who live there will be displaced.

Then, so called affordable housing the 600 or so units promised - will be reduced by 200 and after that to 100 and then to nothing. All the Big Developers have to do - is amend the Disposition and Development Agreement - go before the Treasure Island Development Authority - and be rest assured; that no one will challenge this corrupt - entity.

The City has not learned much from Hunters Point and Parcel A. At Parcel A - rental units were promised and then through an amendment - the rental units evaporated.
There was money set aside for Community Benefits and these benefits - evaporated too.

According to the Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) on Parcel A - the homes should have been standing today - but, there has been no movement.

Now, that the SF Redevelopment Agency will have its funding taken away - all the more Lennar has given up on Parcel A - with the "death" of SF Redevelopment Agency - Lennar does not know what to do. Lennar is drowning in the CESSPOOL of its own creation.

Trying to resurrect the Infrastructure Financing District will not work. New legislation will be introduce to facilitate the Infrastructure Financing District model - but Sacramento will shoot the legislation - down.

There are too many uncertain variables taking place at Treasure Island - the Island has yet to be bought. Yet, the entities are talking as if they have full control of the Island. The Island still comes under the control of the U.S. Navy.

Time will tell - we need housing but we do not need housing on land prone to liquefaction, floods, and imminent big Tsunami - and more:
