Potholes, all over SF - City wastes $300,000 fixing roads outside Parcel A at Shipyard.

by Francisco Da Costa
There are major potholes all over San Francisco. The recent rains have created craters. The City must attend to potholes where daily a tragedy is waiting to happen. Some large potholes - around Executive Park. The recently patched potholes - have eroded - pointing to very heavy traffic, huge rigs, and construction work linked with SF Public Utilities Commission Projects. In the meantime over $300,000 is being wasted on roads outside Parcel A at the MAIN entrance of the Shipyard. An area that is contaminated and yesterday the Asbestos Readings ten feet away from where some workers were working, without protection - were at 15,000 Asbestos SPM. All it takes in one Asbestos structure to lodge in the lungs of the mostly Latino workers - who had no idea - about the contamination and the secondly about the high Asbestos Readings.
The ploys and machinations of this City and County of San Francisco do not cease to amaze me.

Recently, I have been writing to the Department of Public Works to fix the roads in areas that are heavily plied by large vehicles and millions of cars. The area around Tunnel Road, and the adjoining roads by Executive Park have large potholes. Other areas most by the enterance of FREEWAYS - one surely by Costo heading South on Highway 101 to the Airport.

The Asphalt team from the Department of Public Works (DPW) is sent to patch the potholes - but in just three days after the repair - the earth beneath the pothole sinks - and the potholes appear - proving that the Earth is unstable, saturated, prone to liquefaction, and adversely impacted by salt water.

As a result of the recent heavy rains and flooding - the patch does not work - and this City has to address this work on an Emergency Footing. Stop pussyfooting around.

Outside Parcel A in another area, by the Main Gate leading to the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard - where there is no heavy traffic - the City is trying to impress some developers to take a shot at building homes on Parcel A - that was transferred to the City and County of San Francisco . Who is turn transferred in to San Francisco Redevelopment Agency - who lost no time to transfer it to LENNAR - a Rogue Developer.

Lennar, the Rogue Developer with INTENT poisoned our children and Elders - and started doing this in the year 2004. Large areas are graded - with Asbestos Friables all over the place - with gusty wind the Asbestos Friables are stirred up and cause adverse impacts - to any living being. That is bird, animals, human - and the Precautionary Principle kicks in. The Precautionary Principle is an Ordinance, a law - in San Francisco.

Yesterday, April 6, 2011 - the Asbestos Reading were high in the area around Cleo Rand - with heavy wind gust the Asbestos Friables are moving in all all directions. We had wind gust of over 45 miles per hour.

Some Latino workers were busy removing the old worn old Asphalt and preparing the roads leading to the Shipyard for a new coat of Asphalt. None of them were aware of the high Asbestos Readings. There was no Inspector and there will NOT be anyone inspecting today. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District - will be sent this article and hopefully they will go and conduct some Asbestos readings.

Everything was wrong about this project costing more then $300,000. The rains are due again - and the Earth is saturated with water. The road will be Asphalted - and within three months - you will see potholes. This is how our City - wastes its money.

The City may use some Stimulus Money - but, the City must remember the Stimulus Money is Tax Payer's money. Just because some project that is not really the City's Project is Shovel Ready does not mean we must deal with such projects. Let the Developer - spend its own money - and fix the roads. Or for that matter let the United States Navy fix the roads - because of its project and wear and tear.

DO NOT THINK FOR A SECOND SOMEONE IS NOT WATCHING YOU JACKASSES WASTING TAX PAYERS MONEY.

Gavin Newsom and the present Administration has been wasting Stimulus Money - on Mickey Mouse projects and that includes Workforce, CityBuild, and the money wasted by inept folks like Rhonda Simmons and others.

The City and County of San Francisco with the help of SF Redevelopment Agency is proposing to put over $1 million of Art Work on Contaminated Land. That is Parcel A which is a mess. Who will go to Pacel A to see some Art Work on contaminated land. And now that SF Redevelopment is DEAD - its head cut off and its funding coming to a end - who will monitor the grants given to this Artists - who by now already have the money and can stall on the huge Art pieces.

What is happening to this City - wasting one million of some Art Work all paid for - to be place on contaminated land. A Superfund Site - land that is toxic and has radiological contaminants.

Right now the land inside Parcel A - is overgrown with weed and garbage strewn all over the place. Weed grown so high and no one is clearing the weeds. Not the smoking kind - but the kind that is of no use - it is a shame that the least Lennar can do - is clean up the area - remove the over grown weeds that can be seen from a mile away.

Secondly, fix the fencing.

I saw a couple of dogs inside Parcel A - more by Navy Road - this land is contaminated - and laden with Asbestos Structures - yesterday, the gusty wind affected the dogs - and when the dogs die of course our City is nonchalant about this act - but, the thousands of dog lovers can take on Lennar and the present Administration - that is aiding and abetting LENNAR:

Take a look at these photographs and I have hundreds more to reveal - taken on April 6, 2011:

Lennar, is a Rogue Developer that has BLOOD on its hands.

The City and County of San Francisco with folks like the Pacific Heights Mafia, Willie L. Brown Jr., other dubious entities have no right to use tax payers money - to fix roads that can wait - and deprive this City from fixing roads that are heavily traversed and not maintained. Daily adversely impacting thousands of tax payers.

In many parts of our City - at the entrance of the many Freeways - you have large potholes - waiting for a serious accident to happen.

The City excuse that is NOT valid the Parcel A project is shovel ready - it may it - but let Lennar foot the bill and Asphalt the roads.

Let not the City be involved in any way - wasting over $300,000 and thinking that no one is watching you devils.

In the meantime what is the City doing about the health of our Elders and our children.

The Health Department Dr. Rajiv Bhatia who open his mouth and shoves his foot - every time he tried to go defensive and defend his Department's actions and fake policies.

Amy Brownell the lying woman - who tried to fix emails and other communication - working with dubious entities at the Environmental Protect Agency and other regulatory agencies - this woman must be fired and fined.

No one is testing our children, our Elders, those whose immunity has been compromised and are now suffering from all sorts of headaches, cancers, and so on.

Where is the Precautionary Principle?

Where is the justice?

Where is the compassion - the fairness - this City is all about.
