The Women of Haiti
Director and founder of SOPUDEP (Society of Providence United for the Economic Development of Petion-Ville) http://sopudep.org/ school for the poor in Haiti, Rea Dol will discuss women's grassroots projects that reflect the tenacity, hope, and indomitable spirit of the women of Haiti.
Kevin Pina, founder of the Haiti Information Project, will accompany Ms. Dol and translate for her. Kevin will report on the political situation in Haiti, including the status of the Lavalas majority political party and the runoff election scheduled for March 20.
A $5-10 donation is requested. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
The event is sponsored by The Task Force on the Americas. http://www.americantaskforce.org The venue is wheelchair accessible. For more information, please call 415/924-3227.
