Rally to Defend Labor and Support Wisconsin Workers

Date:
Tuesday, March 15, 2011
Time:
5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Location Details:
Meet at the Santa Cruz Clock Tower

Come to the town clock on Tuesday 3/15/11 at 5:30 PM in a show of support and solidarity for those in Madison and for all workers' rights!

Remember, law makers in Idaho and Ohio have already voted for similar anti-worker bills like the one in Wisconsin. Nationally, the GOP budget would gut health care, support for women and families, environmental protections, housing assistance, food aid, and more. Here in California a proposed bill would take away pension bargaining rights. We need to take our cues from the brave people in Madison and stand up next Tuesday to say "No More!"

Join teachers' union and workers from the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council TODAY at the town clock at 5:30 PM!

I'm not usually one to critique the organizational efforts of others, and that's not what I'm trying to do here in this comment. Maybe it would be a good idea to try and form a local activist network for quicker organizing and mobilization. For example, three weeks ago, Californians demonstrated in solidarity with Wisconsin workers. Tonight's event at the clock tower ought to be a vigil for the tragic situation still unfolding in Japan.
Solidarity with the Wisconsin Workers and people of Japan. I know there's a lot popping off around the globe! Thanks for organizing!
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
