Russia's Foremost Gay Activist Speaking in San Francisco Monday Evening
In his continuing campaign to spread the word about this May's Moscow Gay Pride and thus hopefully forestall threatened repression by the Russian authorities, the country's foremost gay leader, Nikolai Alekseev, will speak in San Francisco Monday evening, March 7.
Due to an eleventh hour cancellation of the room reservation for the event by the host venue, Metropolitan Community Church, 150 Eureka Street, attendees are asked to meet in front of the Church at 5:30 PM, at which point we will go to a nearby venue for the event.

Sectarian hostility of a few individuals towards Nikolai and those associated with him has forced us to make these arrangements, as they have harassed tour venues.
It is a sad statement on the state of the LGBT "community" in California that a courageous activist such as Alekseev, who has done so much to establish the legal right to assemble in Russia, is met with such attempts to suppress his voice here. Alekseev and his colleagues in Russia have literally risked their health and lives to win LGBT rights, something that few American "activists" can say.
Alekseev has met a warm response from LGBTs and allies in Chicago, New York, Dallas and Fort Worth (see links below). Please join us at 5:30 PM, Monday, March 7 in front of the MCC, 150 Eureka Street and help send a message that San Francisco also supports free speech and the right to assemble as well.
Help send the message that free speech will NOT be suppressed in San Francisco. PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE WIDELY to your Facebook friends and list serves.
