U.S. Has Now Vetoed U.N. Resolution Opposing Illegal Israeli Settlements

by Free Palestine Now!
BREAKING NEWS: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18th, 2011
One hundred countries supported the latest U.N. resolution opposing Israeli's continued colonial settlement in the occupied territories. Every other U.N. Security Council member, 14 in all, supported it.

The United States itself repeatedly has spoken out against the expanding settlements in Jerusalem and the West Bank, with Obama recently trying to negotiate a 3-month freeze on settlements (only to have his hand smacked away by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu).

Obama has recently spoken favorably of Arab peoples demanding to be freed from the yokes of autocratic and oppressive regimes in Tunisia, Egypt, and elsewhere.

Yet Obama's first UN Security Council veto comes now, in favor of Israel's illegal behavior. Israel can proceed full steam ahead trampling on Palestinians, with full assurance that the U.S. will do nothing to stop it.

Happy talk about freedom and justice for people's of the world aside, this act reveals clearly that U.S. President Barack Obama is no friend of the Palestinian people. Thanks for nothing, Obama!
