N.CA Triangle Fire Commemoration 100th Anniversary Events In March 2011
March 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Fire in New York city. One hundred and forty six mostly immigrant women and men burned to death or jumped from the building as a result of a fire in the garment factory. This event was a watershed in US labor history for labor and health and safety protective laws and this important event will be commemorated throughout the United States. There is a Nothern California organizing committee to help build and plan events to commemorate this event and it's relevance today for workers in the United States and around the world.
