Napa State Hospital Workers Protests Murder and Assaults On Staff, Patients
Several hundred Napa State Hospital workers, their families and community members protested at the hospital on 1/19/2011 because of the death and injuries at the state hospital
Pictures of rally at Napa State Hospital. A new "Safety Now Coaliton" has been formed by SEIU 1000, AFSCME 2620, UAPD and CAPT. It was formed after the murder of psychiatric technician Donna Gross and the beating of rehabilitation therapist George Anderson which resulted in skull fractures.
According to their statement "The controversy at Napa State Hospital NHS comes amid concerns over California's new $26 billion budget deficit.
To balance the budget, Governor Jerry Brown has proposed cutting social and human services and extending revenue measures approved last year by the legislature."
