A Video by Cambiz A. Khosravi: A REALLY INCONVENIENT TRUTH A critical essay on Al Gore's “An Inconvenient Truth" with Joel Kovel
This 75 minute video uses Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth as a beginning, pointing out that we must go far beyond Gore's reading of the ecological crisis into an understanding of the nature of capital as explained by Marx, including how it is a regime of both cancerous production and mindless consumption. What is "really inconvenient" is the truth that global warming is directly related to the unending growth of the world capitalist system -- a system in which Al Gore has played a key role, leading to his avoidance of the heart of the matter, trying to distract us with moral uplift and technological fixes. Only by facing up to what is "really inconvenient" can we win a livable future for us all and the planet we inhabit.

There will be a discussion after the video.
