Dream Act is Destructive Legislation
"No one should have to kill or support killing for an education or citizenship"

The Dream Act is destructive legislation that will give the green light to military recruiters in poor minority neighborhoods and schools to recruit poor Latino youth into the Poverty Draft. The Dream Act isn't only about education. "Dreamers" and their supporters are turning their backs on the MAJORITY of Latino youth who will not go to college. Education budget cuts, tuition increases, high unemployment, and poverty wages, will allow the Dream Act to provide cannon fodder for the Military Industrial Complex. The U.S. occupation is continuing in Iraq, and the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan continues to escalate.
During the Vietnam war, our troops didn't understand the language or culture of the Vietnamese people. In Iraq and Afghanistan, the same situation. But in South America, a U.S. troop invasion will be different. Using Colombia as a staging area, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Nicaragua could likely be invaded using spanish speaking U.S. troops recruited through the Dream Act. They will know the language and cultures. Different from any other U.S. war of aggression.
In 35 years since the last U.S troops left Vietnam, the Democrats and Republicans have found a way for Latinos to enthusiastically support recruiting their own sons and daughters into the military meat grinder so some can go to college. What has happened to us when I hear so-called "progressives" supporting the Dream Act. This is dangerous legislation. Everyone should support a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. But legislation combining education with militarizing our youth must be rejected! We must advocate for separate legislation, or scrap the Dream Act for Amnesty for all.
The nationwide protests across the U.S. in 2006 when millions of immigrants and supporters took to the streets is what must happen again in support of legalization for all. It's the only humane action to take. STOP THE DREAM ACT -- STOP MILITARIZINIG OUR YOUTH -- NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL -- AMNESTY FOR ALL! Visit: http://www.one-voice.info
