Bike Share Technology Showcase

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will host a Bicycle Sharing demonstration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 17 and 18, at Civic Center Plaza in front of City Hall.

The event will showcase systems from some of the nation's leading bicycle share vendors. The public is invited to come test ride the bicycles and kiosk stations and experience technology currently in use in cities such as Washington DC, Denver, Montreal, London, Chicago, Melbourne, and Minneapolis.

Similar to car sharing, bicycle sharing is a term used to describe a membership-based system of short-term bicycle rental. People can check a bicycle out from a network of automated bicycle kiosk stations, ride to their destination, and return the bicycle to a different station.
