These Days Are Still Ours
The Greek Revolt: Two Years after the December Insurrection Presentation and Discussion with Tim At the end of an extremely difficult year for social movements in Greece, the streets of Athens and cities across the country are once again alive with conflict and struggle as the economic crisis deepens. Join Tim, just back from Greece, to explore topics such as the counterinsurgency strategies of the Greek state, organizing in response to the economic crisis, the history of the current PASOK democratic socialist government, and the changing tendencies and contradictions that continue to define the anarchist and antiauthoritarian milieu. The presentation will be followed by a discussion of strategies and lessons from the movements in Greece, and their implications for organizing in the Bay Area and beyond. |
