76,000 Defend Social Secuirty petitions signatures delivered to Speaker Nancy Pelosi
On Tuesday, November 23, 2010 the California Alliance for Retired Americans (aka CARA) delivered 76,000 signature petitions to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office in San Francisco, California. This petition calls for Pelosi, the President, the Congress and the (so-called) Fiscal Commission to not cut Social Security, instead to strength it by increasing taxing on the rich Americans whose wealth has increased at unprecedented levels in recent decades.
The url below is a link to the video record of the delivery of these 76,000 petitions to Pelosi's district manager Dan Bernal.
On November 30, 2010 CARA and a coalition of national organizations will hold a phone call-in to the entire Congress to guarantee the long term viability of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid by calling (866) 529-7630.
Join us and call all of your Congressional representatives to demand a secure bare bones safety net for all Americans.
