What's the Deal After the Oct 7th Day of Action?
Students & workers met to discuss an action plan to follow up with the Oct 7th Day of Action at UC Berkeley. It was great to hear people still firmly focused on changing our education!
Fighting fee hikes, giving children of undocumented workers' financial aid & offering GSIs a more acceptable contract as well as building are collectively the reasons we met on 10/14/2010 in the Tilden Room at UC Berkeley. The Oct 7th Day of Action General Assembly agreed that awareness is indispensable for building mobilization and solidarity for Nov actions. A pillow fight/sleepover as well as a pots & pans demo at or near Birgeneau's campus-home were decided on.

Just putting this out there. It's great that you all are keeping the momentum, but, as a first year transfer student I have found it difficult to find out when these GAs are happening and any information about getting involved. From these photos it looks like you all are not growing in size in terms of what I witnessed last year from afar.
Perhaps you should also focus on outreach and building a bigger group that is representative of the diversity of opinions on campus. To me this seems more of a grad/undergrad activist student club than a 'general assembly.'
that critique aside, this is awesome and you all are doing good work.

"While other UCs are accepting lesser pay, UC Berkeley is fighting alone to upgrade the GSI contract."
I am guessing you are an undergrad with little information. All TAs/GSIs are on the same contract, and UC Berkeley is not "fighting alone" , UC Berkeley, contrary to your views, is not the center of the UC universe, or any others. You sounds shockingly similar to the Regents that view UC Berkeley and UCLA as the only UCs worth savings, keep working that privilege.
