Health Hazard in Downtown Fresno

Huge piles of trash (see photos below) are not being cleaned up by City of Fresno sanitation workers, creating a potentially hazardous situation. Photo below: City Sanitation worker drives by the pile of garbage without stopping.

Why does the City of Fresno refuse to provide trash bins, portable toilets, or drinking water to this communities homeless? Not only is it shamefully neglectful of this communities most vulnerable citizens, it could potentially create a dangerous health hazard for both the homeless and housed alike.

Big Sue, who is homeless and lives in downtown Fresno, called me the other day and said that large piles of garbage were piling up near homeless encampments and that the city refused to clean it up. This is a 4:17 second interview about the situation.
