Forty acres and a mule was the governance of Abe Lincoln, and thats why the slaveowners had him shot so his program in law and constitution could not be implemented. It is this agenda of reparations for the centuries of slave labor that the committee for reparations sets out the fact that three corporations, one bank and more is known to them to be the result of their labor, and that they want that returned to them for the well being of the black community.
However, this program of reparations has been refused by the monopoly ruling classes in the U.S. thusly keeping the Black people more or less in a state of poverty and emiseration. In the unity and struggle for a new society without exploitation of the working classes these reparations for the black people must be given back to them, and including the Lincoln promise of 'forty acres and a mule with the equivalent updating.
Reconstruction was ended in the South without much success simply because the Lincoln planning was eliminated by his assasination. However that should not mean that the future generations should give up the correct programs of liberation of the workers that the union army fought so long and hard to bring to life.
Justice is with the side that freed the enslaved peoples from chattel slavery, and surely the organized labour movement of the present time should continue the programs that would effect the further liberation of the workers in America which for sure includes the victory that reparations necessarily implies.
