Last year, a near riot broke out when Christian protesters were kicked out of Graceada Park in Modesto. This year, they're coming back. We're calling on all people to stand up to them and take back PRIDE in Modesto!

Saturday, Sept. 18th, 11 AM - 7 PM, Graceada Park, Needham Ave

Last year, bigoted Christian protesters arrived at the PRIDE Festival in Modesto, holding signs and proclaiming that those in attendance were sinful and would "burn in hell." A group of people at the festival quickly responded by creating banners, surrounding the intruders, and forcing them out of the park. Despite the police trying to protect the bigots, the group quickly packed up with their tails between their legs. Even more shameful, the PRIDE organizers shut the festival down ahead of time, in order to stop any sort of community response to the zealots.

PRIDE is about celebrating the Stonewall Riots and queer resistance. Thus, we find the best way to celebrate is to fight these scum. We call on all people to throw down with us on Saturday September 18th, 11 AM - 7 PM at Graceada Park, located on Needham Ave in Modesto. The Central Valley Queer Coalition will be having a booth there, so be sure to come by and get ready with banners and signs, and pick up radical queer zines and relax. There will also be a party at Firehouse 51 after wards!
