Gun Convention in The Bay Area?!

Somehow I bet that there are gun shows all the time that you just don't see advertising for, just like the model airplane enthusiasts and tapdancing practitioners also have their circles.

What would be different is the $$$ required to buy ads for the shelters. Probably, some national organization thought they could jostle everyone in San Francisco by doing that.

According to this NYTimes article, the SF bus stop ads are going to stay up, probably due to a related Supreme Court Ruling.

Oh, so it's confirmed that they were targeting San Francisco the city. It's sort of silly. In the same vein, republicans have been able to convince the public that Nancy Pelosi is some sort of leftist based on her bay area ties, when she's not, and there are plenty of conservatives in the region.

Personally, I think the advertising content rule is a bit off, although, *plenty* of cities have rules regarding location and placement of business signs and advertising. Zoning commissions have lots of power.

I and just about every member that i personally know in my overall very progressive union owns a weapon . That doesn't in any way makes us ''gun nuts '' or indicates that we share the usual right wing bullshit put out by the NRA on many issues . Nor do we oppose sane protective measures like trigger guards .
But in this very dangeorous society should only cops and anti-social criminals own guns ?
I don't think so . And neither did not only Malcolm X and the Black Panther party but Mother Jones (the real Original radical Mother Jones not the timid liberal rag that shouldn't bear her name ) , Eugene Debbs, Big Bill Haywood, Thousands of strikers throut US history and some courgeous doctors who dare to provide abortions to women who need them etc.

It is a right enshrined in the constitution - that right is there for a reason: to give the people the ability to fend off a tyrranical government. How relevant that is today (when the government could kill us all with the push of a button) may be a matter for discussion, but the fact that we have the right in the first place is not up for debate. Read your history books.
