What you don't see in these videos is that there were only about a dozen people in the audience. Not exactly a turnout of the masses.

Also, the clips have obviously been edited to focus on Steve Zeltzer and his slate, along with Tracy Rosenberg (who comes off as imperious and snide).

Much has edited out to exclude the http://www.savekpfa.org slate ...boy, guess opponents are really scared they'll lose the election to them, so much so that they presented a slanted video "debate." For instance, the last clip "Concluding statements from each candidate" -- is mostly the crazy Voices for Justice (Zeltzer) slate.

Oh, and the "election supervisor" Oriana Suportas formerly helped SEIU in its dirty war agains the National Union of Healthcare Workers (see http://sternburgerwithfries.blogspot.com/2010/06/oriana-moves-on-to-public-radio-well.html).

One post maintained that Ships Clerk #34 membership are mostlyAfrican-American . While there are some Black Members there are no where near a majority in that local . Local 10 Longshore is majority Black .
As for the second post it's true that Saportas did work for the SEIU leadership against the NUHW . It's also true that the practically no one running for the KPFA LSB on any slate supports the SEIU misleadership . So what does that has to do with anything ?
I just checked the kpfa.org website and see that there is no special labor programming on Labor Day on KPFA. This was a regular feature of KPFA years ago and considering the Great Depression we are experiencing, is outrageous. Since there are only the regular programs on KPFA, which will most likely have a tape for each as it is a holiday, the only thing I intend to listen to today is the 6 p.m. news. Having specials like all-day Labor Programming on Labor Day is a good fundraiser too. The San Francisco ballot alone screams for Labor Programming on Labor Day, with Props B and G attacking labor directly. Prop B calls for making city workers pay more for healthcare and pensions, thus taking healthcare away from the clerical workers as they cannot afford to pay anything. Prop G calls for Muni drivers to be subject to collective bargaining instead of using a cost-of-living formula for pay raises which has kept labor peace. If Prop G passes, we will certainly have a transportation strike, and possibly a general strike, which the anti-labor thugs at City Hall deserve, but we need our buses. The horror of attacking drivers for management's problems needs to be discussed on KPFA daily as the capitalist press is attacking the drivers daily in their campaign for this proposition. The lack of jobs, lack of socialized medicine, promotion of the death penalty and the destruction of the school system are also labor issues. At every single forum, every candidate should complain about no labor programming on Labor Day on KPFA. Steve Zeltzer did it on-air, and that is outstanding. What about everybody else?
by Labor Programming On KPFA
The lack of a one hour weekly labor show on KPFA and labor programming on KPFA is not an accident. In fact the supporters of Concerned Listeners "Save KPFA" on the staff and even leaders of the Independents for Community Radio slate voted to ban the KPFA Labor Collective from even submitting labor programming proposals. This attack on the labor collective came partly as a result of it's effort to challenge the lack of accountability by the management and entrenched staffers at KPFA.
While WBAI in NY, KPFK in LA and KPFT in Houston have a one hour regular labor show this is not the case at KPFA.
These issues are obviously still in play at the station.
