Report Back on Open Copwatch Shift in the Mission Sf 8/19/10
Follow up from Open Shift in the Mission SF on 8/19/10
Our Copwatch shift went well both in participation and in outreach. We started with a quick know your rights discussion and question and answer session for copwatchers.
Then, we went on foot up and down mission street. People were very receptive and excited to see us out on the corners with them. We spoke with many youngsters who told us they were constantly being harassed by the police in their neighborhoods. We exchanged contact info and will follow up with them to develop working relationships around copwatching and even hip hop music!
As far as police interaction. We filmed one particular traffic stop where at the end we tried to get their badge numbers, but the request was ignored and they drove away.

We will continue to organize bi monthly shifts in San Francisco and Oakland so check this site for upcoming shifts.

Sounds cool y'all. Don't be upset about the cops, they're all dicks. The important thing is the connections you make with people (although it does feel good to intimidate the fuck outta a pig).

Having Copwatch in the Mission is a natural and it's a great start! Thank you all for making it happen!
Just FYI, Im seeing more undercovers these days around the Mission doing some messed up manipulative shit.
There were two especially that I watched recently and got their badge numbers. They were at 30th & Misison right out in front of Safeway harassing some teenagers. Their info is:

I wish I had some better pictures to show. but watch out in front of that safeway, these two were wearing ecko street clothes and a grey hoodie. Not the first time I've seen undercovers there either. shit, dont they have REAL crimes to solve? like murders, sexual assault, etc.? going undercover to harass kids is bullshit.
**also attached is the sworn list of SFPD edited from a crummy PDF I found online so now its easily readable.
