SF Lymewalk

Date:
Sunday, September 26, 2010
Time:
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Event Type:
Other
Organizer/Author:
Robin Krop
Location Details:
Meet at Larkin/Fulton, northwest corner of the SF Main library (Civic Center BART).

Join us for an easy sidewalk walk around the SF Civic Center area, followed by slideshow/discussion at the Main library. Cafeteria food and drink available. Wear green (Lyme = lime green), bring signs and balloons. Dogs also welcome, as pets can also be affected by Lyme disease. Post-walk education for pet owners available.

Ticks are spreading everywhere in vegetation and on wood and animals. If infected, they can transmit Lyme disease and co-infections, which are very debilitating, challenging and expensive illnesses to treat. Better to learn what's happening and how to protect us and our pets!

The walk is one of six California fall 2010 Lyme walks to raise Lyme awareness and funds for the California Lyme Disease Association (CALDA), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization specializing in Lyme advocacy, education and research. http://www.lymedisease.org. Donations for CALDA Lyme research can be made to: http://www.firstgiving.com/sflymewalk
