VIDEO of Five Arrested in San Francisco “Bike Spill” Shutdown of Arco/BP Station

by Joshua Hart
Amidst honking horns of support, and spontaneous acts of resistance all evening, activists calling for a safe Wiggle bicycle route from downtown to the Park successfully shut down the Fell St. entrances for about 3 hours on Friday evening in an action calling attention to oil spills and catastrophic climate change, and the unsafe streets that keep us hooked on oil. Five arrested and as of 1am all but one remain in jail.

§VIDEO (Really!) of the Fix Fell Five U-Locked Down
by Joshua Hart
Five people were arrested tonight for locking down in an entrance and exit to an Arco/BP gas station at the corner of Fell and Divisadero in San Francisco. The protesters called their action a “bike spill.” They chained themselves to bicycles and laid in the car entrance and exit ways, effectively shutting down the gas station.
