Worldwide Opposition to British PM's Attempt To Bring Back Foxhunting
video included of abuse fox hunt protesters experience
The Current Ban
Since Febuary the 18th 2005 fox hunting has been illegal in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) this has led to many innocent lives being spared. Although it has been illegal, some aristocratic people who think they have a born right to inflict despair upon an innocent animal have still been hunting since then, the UK police force has been unable to stop all hunts. However, in many places fox hunting has been stopped.
General Election
With the election over and the conservatives with the most seats, though not a big enough majority, Conservative leader David Cameron and his party will try to revoke the ban. This cannot be allowed to happen. Fox hunting involves the chasing of innocent foxes with large groups of hounds. These hounds terrify the foxes and chase them for many miles. When the fox eventually tires it is ripped apart in the most painful and horrendous fashion. Shockingly Many Liberal Democrat MP's also support fox hunting, although Nick Clegg has said he would not repeal a ban. Senior liberal democrat officials like Sir Ming Campbell voted to keep fox hunting back in 2004. If Conservatives and Liberal Democrats formed a coalition govenment then the U.K's foxes could be in danger.
Why?
Fox hunters claim that foxes are vermin and need to be dispossed of, they claim they eat farm chickens and other small animals thus need to be exterminated. If people do not want their farm chickens to be eaten then the simple solution is locking them up safely at night so nothing can get them. Foxes cannot be blamed for searching for food, it is only natural. When they kill a chicken, for example, people often claim they kill them for pleasure. In actual fact the fox hunters kill them for food and return to bury them at a later date. However, when they come back to bury them they will see someone waiting for them with a gun, so will steer clear.
The Fox Hunters
The fox hunters themselves can be some of the most uneducated (kind of ironic as they are generally upper class and you would expect them to have a good education) and vulgar people one could ever meet. Anyone who tries to protest against the hunt is swore at, assaulted, pushed to the ground and run off the road. They install fear in anti-fox hunters as well as the foxes themselves. Anti-fox hunting protestors can be violently attacked and may receive brutal injuries. People living in the countryside have their homes and land invaded while the hunters on horseback trample through their gardens and fields destroying everything in their path.
