Christian Rock at 101.1 FM Please help!

by danielsan
I've always been proud to interfere with Air 1, the Christian Rock station that "owns" 101.1 FM with a Translator set up in Carmel. Now it's loud and clear at 101.1 FM. Argue and disagree with FRSC and our schedule, personalities, and collective decisions all you like... But tune in or read on for plenty of reasons to help us get back on the air rather than cede that spot on the dial to the station that brags about its success through "dropping controversial and political programs."
from air1 (dot) com:

"Air1 Radio is partnering with ICM towards to build Church Orphanges through the Church Building Program in Africa. The church outreach includes Bible classes, elementary education, medical services, and sports clinics. ICM is integral in creating on-going activities so these churches become a hub for citizens of their communities. The path is paved for carrying on Christ’s commission..."

"Air 1 was launched in 1995 with the goal of reaching people young at heart with the message of Jesus through music that was hard to find on other radio stations. The Air1 Radio Network formed when two stations, KLRD (known as K-LORD), broadcasting out of Yucaipa, CA, and KXRD, broadcasting from Victorville, CA joined together with the vision of delivering positive cutting-edge Christian music produced in St. Helens, OR to teenagers and young adults.

By playing fun, alternative music and dropping controversial and political programs, Air 1’s popularity has grown to become a network of over 100 radio signals that continues to encourage hundreds of thousands of listeners every week.

Air 1 was one of the first music stations to stream its broadcast live on the Internet. Now over 1 million people listen to Air 1 every month all over the world at air1.com.

As a noncommercial, not-for-profit ministry, Air 1 is supported by the continual prayers and financial contributions of our listeners. "

Help us take this part of the airwaves BACK once again!

We need a tree or roof, power and internet, and a couple of dry square feet (like a closet). That's it. Can you help us get back on the air?

If 101.1 FM is interfered with, you can be certain we will report your pirate station to the FCC....thanks for the heads up that your goal was to interfere with them. We will monitor 101.1 FM daily to make sure that a legal station is not interfered with by you guys.....thanks again for the heads up!

What Air 1 means when they say that they have gained listeners by "dropping controversial and political programs," they mean that they have cancelled all their crazy right-wing preachers. Now they just play music.

Aside from what anyone thinks about Christian contemporary music, when Air 1 says they've dropped their controversial an political programs, that's probably a good thing.

FRSC never "interfered" with Air 1 in Carmel. They only broadcast with 10 watts and their legally protected airspace extends only a few miles from their transmitter. Free Radio had 100 watts, but again we only covered a broadcast area within about 5 miles of our transmitter. These are the legal definitions that you can read in Part 15 regulations from the FCC.

The fact that you can hear them (Air 1) much farther than their legally protected area is because of the height of their antenna, the open water between their transmitter and Santa Cruz and that there aren't any other stations around on that frequency.

FRSC was broadcasting from a 75 foot tall tree so we didn't reach to Carmel.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
