A presentation by Kathy McGrade, B.S. Materials Engineer
Description: This talk will detail the series of official explanations for the World Trade Center collapses that the media and government agencies have presented to the public since 9/11/2001. It will show how these self-contradicting theories evolved, and how they have hidden from the American people the true nature of the three worst structural failures in history. Amongst the topics discussed, in non-technical terms, will be the “pancake” theory, as well as the various explanations involving damage from the airplanes and from the fires, for both the Twin Towers and Building 7. The talk will review how these explanations were popularized by the media, such as PBS's Nova program and Popular Mechanics magazine. By using the exact words of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), we'll see how these theories do not match observations. Q&A to follow. The presentation is free, open to the public, and wheelchair accessible.
