We hosting a fundraiser to get the word out about the beta launch party for the Bay Area Timebank Wed, August 11 from 9pm- 2am at Elixir (3200 16th St, SF). Kelley, Crash, and Claudia will be bartending and 50% of the tips will go to support the growth of our new community Timebank!

The Bay Area Community Timebank allows people all over the Bay Area to exchange services, save money, and build stronger communities. Our timebank is part of a movement of hundreds of time exchange systems emerging all across the US and other countries. Time exchanges also helped organize trades of needed services and goods during the last two economic depressions for hundreds of thousands of people in CA.

What is a Timebank? A Timebank is an online directory and accounting system using the currency of hours. For every hour you spend doing something for someone in your community, you earn one Time Dollar. Then you have a Time Dollar to spend on having someone do something for you. It's that simple. Yet it also has profound effects. Timebanks bring personal relationships back into transactions and help grow communities.

The Timebank is coordinated by members of the Timebank with the help of Bay Area Community Exchange (BACE), a nonprofit collaborative network that supports the development of alternative means of exchange in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Hope to see you there!
