PSL Forum and Discussion
The Immortal George L. Jackson
Guest Speaker Greg Thomas’ presentation will focus on the legendary George Jackson as a political icon, historical figure, and Black revolutionary writer, thinker and organizer. His legacy is now more important than ever, after decades of counterrevolutionary backlash across North America and throughout the neo-colonized world dominated by Western imperialism in general and the U.S. capitalist empire in particular. The need to distinguish rumor and capitalist propaganda from truth and information for the benefit of contemporary liberation struggles will be emphasized.
Greg Thomas is a professor of literature at Syracuse University. He is the founder and former editor of PROUD FLESH: New Afrikan Journal Culture, Politics & Consciousness, an online e-journal. Thomas is the author of THE SEXUAL DEMON OF COLONIAL POWER and HIP-HOP REVOLUTION IN THE FLESH. A native of Southeast Washington DC, he is a Pan-Africanist and student of Black Radical Traditions.
Plus: Report on Immigrants Rights Protest at Nat’l. Governors Conference in Boston & Update on Struggle Against SB 1070
