LABOR & CIVIL RIGHTS GROUPS MARCH
ON SACRAMENTO CITY COUNCIL TUESDAY
TO URGE COUNCIL VOTE TO BOYCOTT ARIZONA
Organizations continue calling for economic boycott for Arizona.
Labor and Civil Rights organizations challenge "Tea Party" right wing extremists.
RALLY AND MARCH, TUESDAY, JUNE 15
Cesar Chavez Park (10th & "I' Street
5 P.M.
Civil rights and labor organizations, which packed City Hall several weeks ago
demanding a boycott of Arizona by the Sacramento City Council, will rally and
hold a major march on Tuesday, June 15, starting at Cesar Chavez Park. It
starts at 5 p.m.
The City Council was leaning, with at least 5 votes, for a condemnation of the
Arizona law and a full boycott. Sacramento would join other California cities,
including San Francisco, Oakland and San Diego.
The right wing's reaction to our petition to boycott Arizona has been extreme,
but we are going to challenge the "Tea Party" members who support that kind of
legislation everywhere.
SPONSORS AND ORGANIZERS:
Union Civica Primero de Mayo, Frente de Mexicanos en el Exterior, Union Civica
Primero de Mayo,
LCLAA (AFL-CIO), SEIU USWW 1877, Sacramento Central Labor Council AFL-CIO
LULAC West Sacramento, OTAC (Organizacion de Trabajadores Agricolas de California),
Chicano Consortium, Peace and Sacramento Peace and Freedom Party, CAIR, Green
Party of Sacramento.
