UCB-PD Officer Aranas Molested Me

by Nate Pitts
My name is Nate Pitts and I am a gardener for People's Park and am the sole proprietor of Oaks4Peace Amalgamated Media Conglomerate, LLC. Back in 2008 I was sexually molested by Officer Sean Aranas of the UC Berkeley Police Department. The molestation was digitally recorded by Kevin Workmon, a member of Landmark Event Staffing (the company is not a licensed security firm). Since 2008 the UC Berkeley Police, now under the auspices of Mitch Celaya, have refused to punish Sean Aranas for sexual molestation, and has refused to hand over the mini-dvd recording of his sex crime to my lawyer, my Autism Specialist, or to the Alameda DA's office.
I want to make it clear that this is not a hoax or an exaggeration. I have been personally embarrassed by this whole ordeal, but out of continued frustration, I find it now necessary to speak out about what occurred. I feel that at least writing this brief summery of events could help start my healing process. I want to thank Indybay for letting me get this off my chest. This has been a terrible ordeal for myself, an event which continues to haunt me.

For the past year and half, a lawyer has been trying to retrieve the damning mini-dvd recording of myself being sexually molested by Officer Sean Aranas. During the beginning of this nightmarish process a Deputy District Attorney had even ordered the UC Berkeley Police to hand over the mini-dvd. According to the police evidence records, the mini-dvd was even copied - presumably to be passed around the police station like a porno and watched by other officers. However the UC Berkeley Police refused to turn over either copy of the the mini-dvd to even the DA's office.

Officer Sean Aranas is a homosexual police officer. I am a homosexual protester; I also am an Autistic. Officer Sean Aranas threw me to the ground, and felt me up, touching me everywhere including my genital region. I repeatedly told to stop touching me, and that I have Autism.

Officer Sean Aranas of the UC Berkeley Police Department screamed at me to "SHUT UP", telling me he was a cop and could touch anyone he wanted anywhere he wanted.

I repeated I have Autism and asked him to stop touching me. He got angry and kicked me a couple of times, including in the head. He then continued to grope me all around my body.

Through this entire process Kevin Workmon was operating a mini-dvd recorder, which was property of UC Berkeley Police. Kevin Workmon was hired to record all activity outside the Oak Grove Tree Sit. At the time, I was literally the only person there on the ground. Officer Sean Aranas took advantage of the fact that it was late, getting dark, and I was alone. The Tree Sitters themselves were in the trees and sleeping.

While I do not know of any other sexual assault by Sean Aranas, it is a fact that in the past Officer Aranas abused the rights of Andrea (CopWatch) Pritchet as well as violently attacked Dan (Dan-Gerous) McMullan, throwing the gentleman out of his own wheelchair. It is also a fact that there have been investigations in the past regarding Officer Sean Aranas' violent behaviour towards suspects, yet the UC Berkeley Police chose to close the investigation and suppress any findings.

The UC Berkeley Police, and Administration have been covering up the sexual molestation of an Autistic. They are hiding a tape which shows sexual contact as well as me being kicked for asking the officer to stop.

The UC Berkeley Police are supporting an officer with a history of violence, and an allegation of sexual molestation.

I support a full investigation into the conduct of Officer Aransas for sexual molestation and other misconduct. Aransas deserves unpaid leave during the investigation. This is likely only the first of further allegations of sexual misconduct by Aransas to come to light.
I have always advised my children to be honest. A lie must be covered by another and another and another. I ask my children to tell the truth no matter what, so they can live well.
I ask any police enforcement person Nelson and anyone else to come clean. Live well by telling the truth.

It's obvious from the aforementioned complaint, the video(s) showing Officer Aranas shaking down unlicensed vendors, that he should be arrested, or at least removed from interacting with the public he's supposed to be serving, at least while being investigated!
Cops get away with crime because the Prosecutors don't want to charge cops with a crime. They're afraid that if they charge a cop(s) with a crime that every case that the subject cop(s) were involved in would be questioned!
Not a good reason to allow cops to get away with stealing, murder, or any other crime(s)! If cops know that they could face charges, then maybe we wouldn't have so many crooked cops!
Prosecutors need to grow a pair and do the right thing!!!!

This is disgusting and disturbing. Cops are and should be here to protect us. This guy is a predator and is using his job to prey on the innocent and vulnerable. Fire and punish him.
