SF Muni Drivers Have The Right To Reject A Concession Contract-Stop The Concession Brigade
The Transport Workers Solidarity Committee TWSC has supported the campaign by rank and file SF Muni TWU 250A drivers to reject a another concession contract pushed by their union leadership, the other SF City Workers Unions leadership, the SF Board Of Supervisors, the anti-labor Mayor Gavin Newsom and the MTA bosses.
The Concession Campaign led by the leadership of San Francisco unions is helping the bosses drive down wages and conditions for all public workers in San Francisco. Instead there needs to be a united front of all public workers to stop the concessions and force the capitalists to pay for this crisis.

SF Muni Drivers Have The Right To Reject A Concession Contract
The Concession Campaign Will Not Save Our Jobs Or Our Conditions
The Transport Workers Solidarity Committee TWSC supports the campaign to reject
a concession contract for TWU 250 A drivers that is being pushed by the union
leadership, Bob Muscat, Chair of the San Francisco Labor Council Public Workers
Committee, the San Francisco Supervisors and SF Mayor Newsom.
Newsom and MTA Muni management has sought to pit the elderly and disabled
against the drivers blaming the drivers for the increase in fares and the cutbacks in
services. This despicable attack must be challenged.
This concession contract will further drive down the conditions and wages of not only
transit workers but all public workers. It also includes the entry of more part-time
workers to eliminate the regular workday and also to eliminate over-time unless
workers on the job for more than 40 hours.
The TWSC also opposed the concession contract pushed by the leadership of BART
ATU 1555 leadership and the leadership of the Alameda Labor Council.
There is never an ending to concession bargaining. Giving up what you have will
only encourage the employers and bosses to make further attacks on public workers.
Despite the fact that the mayor has laid off 17,000 city workers in order to coerce them
to take concession, the union leadership including the SEIU 1021, IFPTE 21 and all the
unions have continued to negotiate concession to "share the pain". They have refused
to unite and mobilize all public workers to demand that the capitalists pay for this crisis.
San Francisco is one of the richest cities in the world but there is no transit tax on downtown
business and there are many billionaires.
The TWSC stands with those drivers who are taking a principled stand against give-backs
understanding that this will only weaken them and the entire labor movement.
Victory to your struggle. Unite all public workers and all transportation workers
in action to stop the attacks on transit and public services.
