World Naked Bike Ride - San Francisco

Saturday, June 12, 2010
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Event Type:
Location Details:
Justin Herman Plaza, near the Vaillancourt Fountain, Market Street, San Francisco

The 2010 World Naked Bike Ride San Francisco chapter takes place on Saturday, June 12. The official meetup time is 12 Noon at the Justin Herman Plaza, San Francisco, CA. It is always a good idea to arrive earlier if you wish to get any body paint or slogans done by FaceFX. While the theme is to ride your bike naked, it is acceptable for newbies to go as bare as you dare. That is, whatever you are comfortable with, or in this case, without. Topless, bikinis, gymnastic leotards, nude body stockings, body paint, latex, chain mail, lingerie, pajamas, tuxedos, whatever you like, it's all acceptable. It's all in good fun.

And it's all about getting the message out there about our nation's energy policy, the monopoly of the domestic oil cartel, the dependency on oil imports, the slow response for energy alternatives, the auto industry's focus on high end, low mileage vehicles (both domestic & foreign) when startups like Tesla show what can be done. The economic hardships caused by oil speculation and deliberate shortages designed to maximize the oil cartels profits and empty your wallet. And it goes beyond gasoline in the gas tank. Many products rely upon petroleum products to make lubricants, paints and other chemicals. When all these cost more, everyone pays more. And worst of all, while we are going broke, our planet, the environment, the ground, the air, the water, everything suffers from an ill-conceived energy policy.

Hey San Francisco, Portland had 5000+ riders last year, SF had 120. We can do better than that. If we get a thousand riders, then we'll ride over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Special attention paid to protesting BP this year, like riding around their headquarters on New Montgomery Street.

by Shorts & Shirt
You must live in a fantasy land if you think the world needs or wants to see your naked body. A shirt and shorts, and of course, shoes to protect your feet are necessary. And when the temperature is below 80 degrees, probably more than that is necessary. When you get done with playing, how about screaming bloody murder about the Gulf of Mexico Oil Disaster, which is destroying our planet. This is serious. How about screaming bloody murder about the massive poverty in this society, about the destruction of our school system, about the homeless crisis, about the lack of a universal free medical system in this backward country.

Look - Tristan actually made antagonist zombie's pictures a few years ago, towards the bottom. He was snapping lots of photos for his collection.
