Listen now:
The Show opens with the trailer to the film "Operation Small Axe", a song called "My Life" by Mr Fab in memory of Oscar Grant, another song by Bay Area artist Sellassie called "Newsflash" and then the interview starts at 11 min in. The music mix that follows the interview is off The Youth Movement Records compilation release "The Movement" and the "Panabay Mixtape" by Los Rakas. Both groups are Bay Area artists bringing the real hard hitting hip hop truth music and can be found with a "the google" search. The whole file is about 60 MB and just under an hour and five minutes in length.
In the interview, AC Sandino II and JR talk about the case of Oscar Grant, Lovelle Mixon, the Oakland 100, and the community response to a continued brutal and racist police department in Oakland amongst other topics. Folks are encouraged to educate themselves and get involved in whatever way they see fit.
Here's a link to the calendar announcement from Indybay's calendar. It has more info about the film.
